Passionately Pink for the Cure® is back!

Passionately Pink for the Cure is a program that helps us engage in our promise and that is simple to execute! This fundraising program helps inspire breast cancer advocacy and honors those affected by the disease. Participants form teams that wear pink and donate funds which are sent back to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

Here’s how it works:
First, pick your day. Choose any day that works for your team. You can even make it a two-day, week long or monthly event.

Second, pick your team. Recruit friends, neighbors, girl scout troops, or really anyone in your area to wear pink on your chosen day and make a $5 or more personal donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Third, pick your pink. From subtle pink accessories, to head-to-toe pink work attire, to an excuse to go casual, choose what works best for your group.

Fourth, pick your activities. Your group can simply wear pink and make donations of $5 or more per person. Or you could include an educational event, such as a pink-bag lunch with a speaker. Or make it FUN! Add a contest for the best pink ensemble or host a bake sale to raise additional donations. Use your day to bring out the creativity of the “Passionistas” in your group.

Register today at: www.passionatelypink.org and we’ll send you a free activation kit with everything you need – including event day ideas, promotional posters, and special pins for participants and an envelope to return the donations to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Each year, more than 1 million women are diagnosed with breast cancer around the world, and many will die unless a cure is found. With a 2008 Passionately Pink for the Cure goal of raising $4.5 million to invest in breast cancer research and breast health programs, we’re counting on every member of every group to raise as much as possible. Remember that your donation could make a meaningful difference.

There are many creative ways to raise money for the Komen National Race for the Cure. The two major avenues are the Pledge for the Cure® Program and 3rd Party Events.

Race Pledge Program

Pledge prizes will be given to fundraisers at the following levels. If you raise:

$100 – 249: Promise Rings
$250 – 599: Business Card Holder
$600 – 999: Grocery Tote
$1,000 – 1,499: Travel Tumbler
$1,500 – 4,999: Umbrella
$5,000+: 1 GB Jump Drive

Pledges received by close of business on Friday June 6 will count toward the pledge prize program. Prizes must be redeemed in person at the Pledge Prize Tent on Race Day; photo ID is required. Prizes will NOT be available or mailed post-Race.

Registered Race participants encourage friends, family and colleagues to pledge money on their behalf or on behalf of their Race Team. (Pledge to a Team).You can pledge online, or by downloading a printable 2008 Pledge for the Cure form.

3rd Party Events

Many individuals or organizations wish to host a fundraiser on their own throughout the year to benefit the Komen National Race. Interested parties should review the 3rd Party Event Guidelines on this web site and submit an application to the National Race office.
